SPFR100 is a transparent, water-based fire-retardant impregnation that markedly slows flame spread on wood. In the certified configuration it reaches class B-s1,d0 (EN 13501-1); on other substrates the achievable class depends on the timber and the build-up.

02What is SPFR100?
SPFR100 is a transparent, water-based fire-retardant impregnation for absorbent wood, intended for interior and exterior applications. Its fire class under EN 13501-1 is up to B-s1,d0 (classification report K16/2024, certificate ET-0388-24). The achievable class depends on the wood, its thickness and how the product is applied, and can be verified for each project. SPFR100 has a viscosity of 12.75 mPa·s.

SPFR100 is a transparent wood impregnation treatment that preserves the natural appearance of wood and does not form a whitish layer or a heavy surface coating. It is well-suited for projects where maintaining the natural aesthetic of wood is important.
04What is the difference between intumescent paint and a wood impregnation treatment?
The main difference between intumescent paint and a wood impregnation treatment lies in how they protect the wood and what kind of finish they leave behind.
Intumescent paint forms a covering layer on the surface of the wood. It usually changes the appearance of the surface, covers the wood grain, and is generally more suitable when a painted finish is desired. In many cases, it is a multi-layer system that includes a primer and a topcoat.
A wood fire-retardant impregnation treatment, by contrast, penetrates into the wood and usually does not form a heavy surface coating. Its advantage is that the natural appearance of the wood is preserved better and the surface remains more natural-looking. SPFR100 is a transparent wood impregnation treatment designed for the fire protection of wood and wood-based materials.
05What surfaces and materials is SPFR100 suitable for?
SPFR100 is used for the fire protection of wood and wood-based materials. It is particularly well suited to softwood species such as spruce, pine, and larch, and is used on facades, cladding boards, structural timber, plywood, CLT, and log houses in both industrial applications and construction projects.
06Can SPFR100 be tinted?
Yes. SPFR100 can be tinted according to color charts, allowing you to choose a shade that suits the project while maintaining the desired visual appearance.
In tinted solutions, we use high-quality iron oxide- and titanium dioxide-based pigments that help ensure good color stability in outdoor conditions.
