Fire-safety requirements for timber depend on the building, its use and the end-use configuration.
Selecting a fire-retardant treatment therefore requires clear classification documents, defined application parameters and verification against the project fire strategy. SPFR100 combines a transparent finish with published technical documentation for specification and project assessment. It has been tested at the independent laboratories MEKA (Latvia, NB 2040) and Eurofins (Finland), and certified by Inspecta Estonia OÜ (Kiwa).
SPFR100 features
FeaturesTransparent finish
Untinted SPFR100 preserves the natural look of the wood and stays visually transparent, with no whitish coating on the surface.
Documented reaction-to-fire performance
Published B-s1,d0 classification under EN 13501-1 within the tested and certified configuration defined in K16/2024 and ET-0388-24.
Water-based and low-emission
Solvent-free and formaldehyde-free according to the current technical and safety documentation. M1 emission classification 5096.
Broad application scope
Designed for a wide range of absorbent timber and wood-based materials. Suitability must be confirmed for the intended substrate and end-use configuration.
Easy application
Brush, roller or spray. Generally 2 coats (fine-sawn, CLT, glulam etc.), planed surfaces 3 coats. Total consumption 210–250 ml/m².
Tintable
Tintable to most shades, including RAL and NCS references.
Brush, roller or spray.
Generally 2 coats (fine-sawn, CLT, glulam etc.), planed surfaces 3 coats; 210–250 ml/m² in total. The certified configuration is controlled by total application mass: 240 g/m², approximately 210 ml/m² in total, not per coat.
How much SPFR100 do you need?
The estimate uses the selected application volume and a 5 % allowance. The published certified configuration is controlled by total application mass: 240 g/m². Actual volume depends on product density, substrate and application conditions. Follow the current technical data sheet.

Frequently asked.
01What is SPFR100?
A transparent, water-based fire-retardant impregnation for absorbent timber and wood-based materials. It penetrates the substrate and helps preserve the natural appearance of the wood, with a published EuroClass B-s1,d0 reaction-to-fire classification under EN 13501-1 and an M1 emission classification.
02Is SPFR100 an intumescent paint?
No. SPFR100 is a transparent impregnation, not an intumescent coating. It does not form a thick foaming layer or an opaque paint film; the natural grain of the timber remains visible.
03What does the published B-s1,d0 classification apply to?
It applies within the tested and certified configuration defined in K16/2024 and ET-0388-24. Other substrates or end-use configurations require project-specific verification.
04Is there an exterior-use formulation?
Yes. SPFR100 is available in a formulation designed for exterior timber exposed to changing weather. Exterior performance depends on the substrate, application, detailing, exposure and maintenance.
